Review - Braun Silk-epil 5

My old epilator finally gave in and died last week. To be honest, it wasn't the best one I've ever used anyway. I decided to go back to a brand I knew and trusted - Braun.

The model I chose was the Braun Silk-epil 5 and after comparing prices all over the internet, I brought it from Argos for £39.99.

Braun Silk-epil 5
The packaging is sturdy and straightforward to open, you can see the epilator inside.

It comes with a shaver attachment, a cleaning brush, a number of different trimming attachments for the face and sensitive areas and also a cooling glove that aims to care for your skin by soothing it after you epilate.

My favourite features included the light on it, which was quite bright, so this enabled me to see and hairs I was missing. I loved the fact that it was washable too, which means better hygiene, something which I fine vitally important with products like this.

The thing that annoyed me was that the epilator has a shaver plug and wasn't advertised, so when I got the product home I couldn't use it until I had purchased a separate plug. (as shown below)

When using this epilator, it wasn't at all painful and managed to grab even the smallest hairs with ease. I would give it 4/5.

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,  Today started off well, I got some more bits we needed for our upcoming holiday in Aldi and Home Bargains. It's drawing ever closer and I'm so excited for some sunshine .......... Image - Grocery Gems I ended up on the phone to our house insurance company for over an hour - with forty minutes of that on hold listening to music that could drive anyone insane. After having a leak in our bathroom last week, that resulted in a flood downstairs and the ceiling coming down, I'm hoping the insurance company get their act together soon! Image - Homeguides.sfx.com Then I edited a weekend vlog for  YouTube  and it should be live later today (Monday) This makes me happy, YouTube is probably my biggest hobby, I've watched for years and now am enjoying making videos too. Bad Health Days

So, last night I decided on today's to-do list. It wasn't much, I can't physically do much, but it was attainable and made me feel like I would be making a huge contribution to my family.  By midnight I knew it wouldn't be getting done, by me anyway. The pain in my leg had been niggly all day and it was getting out of control. I tried to go to bed to rest it, which only caused my back to go into spasm. I ended up with a dose of rescue medicine. I hate taking it, I know that yes it helps, but it's going to leave me with a medication hangover for most of the following day. My night was super restless, with hours of crap tv, Candy Crush and Kindle reading.  This morning, I tried to get on with it, but just getting downstairs was enough to reduce me to tears. And so I sit here with a heat pad, on the sofa, with my feet up writing this and all the people around me are yet again picking up the slack, doing not only their own chores but my to-do list too.  I feel indebt...
